I recently had the opportunity to participate in a training program on data analysis using STATA, organized by the Center for Development Policy. The experience was incredibly enriching and beneficial. The trainers were highly knowledgeable and skilled in utilizing STATA for various analytical tasks. They guided us through practical exercises and real-world case studies, allowing us to apply the concepts and techniques we learned. The training provided a comprehensive understanding of data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization using STATA. The interactive sessions and hands-on practice helped me develop a strong foundation in data analysis, enabling me to confidently tackle complex research projects. I am grateful to the Center for Development Policy for providing such a valuable training experience.

The recently held professional training in Policy Analysis and Preparation of Policy Papers was an eye-opener for me, especially when it comes to preparation of policy papers, even though I was introduced to the rudimentary of Policy Analysis at the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA). But what sets this training apart from the previous one, is being taught the techniques in preparing the different kinds of policy papers, which I think is the desire off-shoot of the entire policy process. Notwithstanding, I would like to further broaden my knowledge on wide-range of policy-related topics or discourses aimed at mastering nearly all the core technical skills.

The training has been a follow up to the previous I pursued, at CDP, on Policy Design and Implementation. So, it provided with me additional knowledge, and some skills, from interventions made by facilitators, that I am required and started using to perform better in my job. I found the delivered knowledge and skills on preparation of Position papers, Policy brief and Policy memo the core tools to deeply analyze current policy issues and help our policy makers clearly understand them to make decisions leading to a sustainable national socio-economic transformation. Really, they are particularly needed in urban infrastructure upgrading projects linked with my daily job duties.
