Our Partnerships
The CDP Africa Partnership Framework is a strategic model designed to foster inclusive development through evidence-based collaboration across the continent. Led by the Center for Development Policy (CDP), the framework brings together national and international institutions, researchers, and policy practitioners to co-create locally relevant solutions. It emphasizes bridging the gap between research and policy, nurturing African expertise through mentorship and joint initiatives, and mobilizing diaspora professionals to strengthen capacity. By promoting knowledge exchange, technical support, and sustainable partnerships, the framework positions CDP as a catalyst for impactful policy design and implementation in Africa.

The CDP Africa Partnership Framework is designed to foster inclusive development across the continent by leveraging strategic collaborations with national, regional, and international institutions. As a Pan-African think tank, the Center for Development Policy (CDP) prioritizes indigenous, evidence-based solutions that reflect the real needs of African citizens. Through partnerships, CDP promotes cross-country learning, knowledge sharing, and joint research initiatives that strengthen policy design and implementation.
At the core of the framework is CDP’s commitment to bridging the gap between research and policy. By pairing experienced and emerging researchers, CDP facilitates mentorship and skills transfer, ensuring that policy interventions are informed by rigorous, locally relevant analysis. The framework also supports the creation of platforms such as the Policy Hub and Impact Fellowship, which nurture future policy experts and promote collaborative engagement among academia, government, civil society, and the private sector.
The partnership framework is also a vehicle for sustainability and influence. CDP mobilizes African and diaspora experts to deliver high-quality capacity-building programs and technical support. It actively engages with institutions to co-design market-responsive training, disseminate policy recommendations, and organize public dialogues on emerging development issues. Through these efforts, CDP strengthens its role as a credible voice in Africa’s policy ecosystem and drives forward the continent’s transformation agenda.
CDP works with a wide range of local and international partners, including:
• Government ministries and public agencies
• Research institutions and universities
• Development partners
• Civil society organisations and private sector actors
• International think tanks and diaspora experts
• Independent Researchers, Experts, and Consultants
We also collaborate on multi-country research, capacity development, and policy advocacy initiatives.
